Privacy Policy

The short version

This site collects an email address and a password so you can have an account, and it records which chapters and questions you have worked through so your progress is there when you come back. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never reach this site. Nothing is sold to anyone, and there is no advertising network here.

Who runs this site

Cardiac Cadence, at cardiaccadence.com, is operated by Mark K. Copeland, RCS, CRAT, in the United States. For any privacy question, or to request deletion of your account and data, use the contact page.

What is collected

If you only read the free material: nothing that identifies you. Chapters 1 and 2, the glossary, the CRAT Exam Guide, and the CRAT Sampler quiz are all readable without an account, and taking the Sampler without signing in stores no record of it.

If you create an account:

• Email address and password. Your password is hashed by Supabase Auth and is never visible to this site or to its operator.
• Learning activity. Which chapters you have opened, quiz answers and scores, and practice-question results, so progress and review features work.
• Subscription status. Whether your account is on a free trial, active, or cancelled, and which plan you chose.

If you subscribe: card details go directly to Stripe. This site never receives, stores, or has access to your full card number. Stripe returns only a customer reference and a subscription status.

Who processes your data

• Supabase - account authentication and the database holding your progress.
• Stripe - payment processing and subscription billing. Stripe's own privacy policy governs the card data it handles.
• Vercel - website hosting and delivery.

Each is a service provider processing data so this site can function. None of them are given your data for their own marketing purposes.

What is not done with your data

• It is not sold, rented, or traded.
• There are no advertising or tracking networks embedded in these pages.
• Your learning activity is not shared with employers, schools, or CCI.

Cookies and similar storage

This site uses browser storage for one purpose: keeping you signed in between visits. That session token is set by Supabase Auth. There are no third-party advertising or analytics cookies on these pages. Clearing your browser storage signs you out and removes it.

How long data is kept

Account and progress data is kept while your account exists. When you ask for deletion, the account and its associated learning records are removed. Stripe retains billing and transaction records independently for as long as tax and financial regulations require, which is outside this site's control.

Your choices

• See or correct your data - your email and subscription status are on your account page. For anything else, ask.
• Delete your account - request it through the contact page and it will be removed.
• Cancel billing - cancel any time from the account page. Cancelling stops future charges; see the Terms for what happens to access.
• Reset your password - use the reset link on the sign-in page.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, such as requesting a copy of it or objecting to its processing. Ask and those requests will be honoured.

Children

This site is built for working healthcare professionals and students in healthcare training programs. It is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.

Health information

This is an educational site. It is not a medical record system, it is not covered by HIPAA, and it holds no patient data. Every rhythm strip on this site is generated by software for teaching purposes. Do not submit real patient information through any part of this site, including the contact form.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or how it is used, the date at the top of this page will change and the update will be noted here.
