What it is
The Cardiac Dance teaches single-lead ECG rhythm interpretation through one place you can picture: Rhythm City, a music venue where each district is a part of the heart's conduction system. The SA node is the DJ Booth, the atria are the Nightclub, the AV node is the Stage Manager's Booth and the ventricles are the Power Plant. Every rhythm comes from somewhere in the city, so once you know where it starts, the strip starts to make sense.
Who it's for
- Students learning rhythms for the first time.
- New monitor and telemetry techs who read strips all shift.
- CRAT candidates who want to understand rhythms, not just memorize them.
What's in it
The book has 14 chapters and covers 36 rhythms, along with ectopic beats and artifact. This site follows it chapter for chapter. Every strip is read with the same five steps, in the same order:
Regularity
Rate
P Wave
PR Interval
QRS Duration
How it's different
This approach differs from how rhythms are usually taught. Most books start with a list of rhythms and their criteria. This one starts with the place each rhythm comes from, then teaches one method you use on every strip. You learn why a rhythm looks the way it does, and the names follow from that. It was shaped by years of training new rhythm analysts and watching where beginners get stuck.
